To be entitled to claim compensation for a delayed flight, the following criteria must apply:

easyJet is a European airline company, so if your flight arrives after more than three hours’ delay and there are no extraordinary circumstances, then you are entitled to compensation which can go up to €600 (£528*) per person.

Example: You are flying with easyJet (EZY) from London Gatwick to Amsterdam. You were due to land in the Netherlands at 11.05, but the airplane eventually landed at 15.36. In this situation, according to Regulation 261/2004, you are entitled to compensation for the resulting loss of time.

Amount of compensation

When you are entitled to compensation because your easyJet flight was delayed, the amount of compensation is based on the flight distance:

If your flight exceeds 3,500 km and your arrival delay is between three and four hours, you are entitled to 50% of the compensation amount.

April easyJet delays

On the 4th of april, several easyJet flights were delayed for three hours or more. Passengers of easyJet flights EZY8210 from Berlin-Schönefeld to London Gatwick, EZY2198 from Basel to London Luton and EZY8435 from London Gatwick to Basel are entitled to €250 in compensation.

April 10, easyJet flights EZY6045 from Bristol to Palma de Mallorca, and the returnflight EZY6046 from Palma de Mallorca to Bristol were delayed for more than three hours. Passengers are entitled to compensation. Passengers of EZY6148 from Porto to Bristol are also entitled to compensation for a long flightdelay. 

During the weekend of April 13, 14 and 15 easyJet suffered another batch of delays leaving passengers waiting for hours. Passengers of the following flights from and to the UK, are entitled to compensation.
