How to claim compensation for a Jet2 delay

This Regulation was established by the European Union to protect passenger rights. EUclaim has been aiding airline passengers retrieving their compensation since 2007, as airlines often refuse to pay passengers what they are entitled to. We have established a very solid reputation by our superior service and success rate in court. If your flight with Jet2 was delayed, we are here to help. Just insert your flight details in our claimcalculator below and we will take care of the rest.
Flight delay compensation in Regulation 261/2004
Some rules apply when claiming compensation for a delayed Jet2 flight. Regulation 261/2004 only applies when:
- Your arrival delay is three hours or more
- Your flight departed from an EU country or
- Your flight was with a European airline and arrived in an EU country.
Jet2 is a British airline and therefor Regulation 261/2004 applies when travelling with this airline. Flight delays with Jet2/Jet2.com can equal compensation up to €600 per person. If your flight is delayed by an extraordinary circumstance, you are not entitled to compensation. Extraordinary circumstances are:
- Poor weather conditions
- ATC strikes or third party strikes
- Medical emergency landings
- Terrorist attacks
Example: Your Jet2 flight from Manchester to Ibiza was delayed for three and a half hours by a flat tire. You are entitled to €400 in compensation.
Amount of compensation for a Jet2 delay
Regulation 261/2004 calculates the amount of compensation by determining the distance of your flight. Jet2 performs mostly short and mid-long distance flights within Europe. Some of the flights go further, to New York for example. The following compensation amounts can be claimed for your flight delay.
Flight destinations within the EU
- €250 (£215*) compensation for a delayed Jet2 flight up to 1,500 km (e.g. Leeds to Copenhagen)
- €400 (£343*) compensation for a delayed Jet2 flight exceeding 1,500 km (e.g. Manchester to Paphos)
Flight destinations outside the EU
- €250 (£215*) compensation for a delayed Jet2 flight up to 1,500 km (e.g. London to Salzburg)
- €400 (£343*) compensation for a delayed Jet2 flight between 1,500 km to 3,500 km (e.g. Edinburgh to Bodrum)
- €600 (£515*) compensation for a delayed flight exceeding 3,500 km (e.g. East Midlands to New York)
Was the flight more than 3,500 km and you arrive with a delay between three and four hours? Then you are entitled to 50% of the compensation amount (e.g. €300) as rules in the Sturgeon Treaty of 2009.
*Compensation calculated March ’19 rate of £1: €1,17 and rounded to the nearest £1.
