Claiming compensation for a delayed Ryanair flight

If your Ryanair flight was delayed you could end up waiting a long time at the airport and lose significant time or miss important affairs. This is why Regulation 261/2004 was introduced and has been in effect since 2005. It establishes your rights as an airline passenger. In order to claim compensation for a delayed flight, the following criteria must apply:

Ryanair is a European airline, this means that if your flight arrives with a delay exceeding three hours and no extraordinary circumstances apply, you are entitled to compensation which can add up to €600 (£528*) per person.

Example: Your Ryanair flight from Dublin to London is delayed by four hours due to crew sickness. You are entitled to a compensation of €250 (£220*) per person.
