Claiming compensation for Eurowings flight delays
If you suffered a flight delay exceeding three hours with Eurowings, you could be entitled to compensation. The amount of compensation is based upon the distance of the flight. The following rules apply when claiming compensation as the flight has to fall under Regulation 261/2004.
- The flight is departing an EU country
- Or you are flying into an EU country and the flight is operated by a European airline
As Eurowings is a European airline, all flights are covered by Regulation 261/2004. If your flight was delayed for three hours or more and the delay was not caused by an extraordinary circumstance, you are entitled to compensation.
Example: Your flight with Eurowings from London Heathrow Airport to Berlin Tegel Airport is delayed for five hours due to crew problems. You are entitled to a compensation of €250/(£225*)
Amount of compensation
The amount of compensation for your Eurowings delay is determined by the flight distance.
