    Bankruptcy threat for Adria Airways

    Financial troubles for yet another airline have passengers concerned. Slovenian airline Adria Airways has not operated flights since Tuesday as a looming bankruptcy keeps flights on the ground. If a solution does not present itself soon, Adria Airways will be the second airline to file for bankruptcy in one week.

    Over 600.000 passengers are stuck abroad as Thomas Cook goes bankrupt

    One of the biggest holiday carriers, Thomas Cook, filed for bankruptcy last night, leaving more than six hundred thousand (!) passengers across the world stranded at their holiday destinations. 150.000 British passengers are awaiting the biggest repatriation ever in peacetime. The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) is taking responsibility for retrieving British passengers to the United Kingdom.

    London Gatwick Airport plans to expand with 90.000 extra flights per year

    London Gatwick Airport has drawn up a report explaining its expansion plans for the future. The airport states that it can realize 90.000 extra flights per year when the new northern runway is finished. The plans still have to be approved by the British Ministry of Transportation.

    The damage of the British Airways pilot strike revealed

    It has been a rough two days for British Airways passengers. Members of the pilot union BALPA went on strike September 9 and 10. At least 1700 flights were cancelled, affecting more than 200.000 passengers this Monday and Tuesday.
